Information we collect
- Account. Name, email, password (stored as a secure hash, not as the password you type), phone, company, job title, region, and the addresses you save.
- Orders. What you buy, prices, VAT, delivery or collection details, order status, Brendon delivery numbers, and messages about the order.
- Payments. Card payments are taken by Dojo. We store the payment status and Dojo’s payment reference. We do not store your full card number or card security code on this website. Bank-transfer orders store the proforma details needed to match your payment. Trade accounts may store a credit limit and the balance used.
- Machines. Serial numbers you search, machines you add to My Machines, service bookings, trade-in applications, and second-hand listings, including photos you upload.
- Messages. Live chat, emails you send us, and files attached to those messages. Chat files are kept for 7 days and then removed. The message text can remain so we still have the conversation.
- Trade applications. Business details, contact details, and the machines or parts you tell us you need.
- Technical data. If a page fails, we may store the page address, browser type, and a short error note so we can fix it. We also store a region cookie so prices and contact details match the country you picked.
Why we use it
- Contract. To create your account, take orders, arrange delivery or collection, and provide parts, drawings, manuals, and servicing you ask for.
- Legal duty. To keep invoices and tax records, and to respond to lawful requests.
- Legitimate interests. To run the shop, prevent fraud, answer questions, improve the site when something breaks, and keep trade-account records. We do not use this information for third-party advertising.
- Consent. Where you choose to join a mailing or tick a box that asks for a separate permission. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Where it is stored
- This website is served from a server in London, United Kingdom.
- Accounts, orders, messages, photos, and machine records are stored in our Supabase database and file storage. That service holds the data for us. Sign-in sessions are kept in your browser so you stay logged in.
- Email is sent through Resend. Please contact us at sales@powerwashers.co.uk. A reply from a member of staff may come from the address they use for that conversation.
- Card payments are processed by Dojo. Dojo receives the card details and the amount. We receive the result.
Some of these suppliers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we use suppliers that provide a lawful transfer safeguard, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK’s standard contractual clauses.
Who we share it with
We share information with the suppliers above, and with delivery companies when an order is sent to you. Staff at Brendon can see the records they need to pack, service, or answer you. We do not sell your personal information.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our customers and the business from fraud.
How long we keep it
- Account details are kept while your account is open. If you ask us to close it, we delete or anonymise what we can, and keep what we must for tax, warranties, or legal claims.
- Orders, invoices, and trade-account records are kept for at least 6 years, which is the usual period for UK tax and company records.
- Chat attachment files are deleted after 7 days.
- Error notes are kept only as long as we need them to fix the fault.
Cookies and on-device storage
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies. The storage we do use is needed to run the site:
- Region cookie (
myb_region). Remembers the country you selected. It lasts up to a year.
- Sign-in storage. Keeps your login session in the browser so you are not signed out on every page.
- Basket and page preferences. Remember a basket, a dismissed notice, or whether a menu is open. These stay on your device.
- Live chat. Remembers an open chat in this browser.
Strictly necessary storage does not need a consent tick under the UK cookie rules. The banner at the bottom of the site explains this and links back to this page. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser. If you clear the sign-in storage, you will need to log in again.
Your rights
If UK data protection law applies to you, you can ask us to:
- see the personal information we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it, or restrict how we use it, where the law allows
- object to use based on legitimate interests
- move information you provided to another service, where the law gives you that right
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
Email sales@powerwashers.co.uk or send us a message and we will respond within one month. We may need to confirm it is you before we release or change an account.
Children
This site is for customers and businesses buying equipment. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change what we collect or where it is stored, we will update this page and the date at the top.
